Our Story

Offshore Solutions was born out of the staffing needs of a successful Australian Web Development and Hosting business. This business offers unlimited free updates to its hosting clients, many of which are tradespeople that do not want to use WordPress or other CMS systems themselves. As the company grew it was spending a lot of money paying Australian employees to make very simple updates such as adding photos to recent project galleries.  The founder of the company first contracted several Indian companies to try to save costs. Unfortunately the companies that were chosen were often unable or unwilling to follow instructions correctly and also would promise to complete a task at an agreed upon price and then midway through the project they would change the rate charged. This isn’t to say there aren’t fantastic organizations in India offering BPO services but the founders experience was unpleasant and difficult.

Whilst still employing full time Australian staff to complete these simple website updates the owner continued to look for other less expensive solutions. That is when he came across an American expat living in Manila. This expat was married to a Filipina and offering freelance Web development services.   Initially the American expat completed website updates while the relationship was being built. Then he opened a small office employing a team of web designers to update websites. The founder of the Australian business was so impressed with teams work that he travelled to Manila and made plans to lease a large office in Makati city. Here we grew a team of Web developers, Telemarketers, Customer service agents, and project managers. The founder of Offshore Solutions also met his wife in the Philippines which enabled him to legally own businesses in the Philippines.

As time went on and monitoring software such as Monitask became available we realized employees that don’t need to commute in Manila’s terrible traffic are much happier. We slowly made the transition to allowing most of our employees to work from home. After running tests on internet speed and ensuing Monitask was installed we saw a huge increase in productivity. We can also hire people anywhere in the Philippines which greatly opened up the pool of available talent.

After rapidly expanding whilst increasing profit the founder realized Filipino workers could help other Australian founders grow their businesses too. That’s when Offshore Solutions was born.
